The war-veterans, our men in uniform who once safeguarded the frontiers from external hostilities are now compelled to fight for their own rights within their motherland. The ex-servicemen and war-veterans have demanded that the government must speed up the entire process of One Rank One Pension and the scheme should be implemented at the earliest. But despite assurances from the Defence Minister and the PM himself, the government has not yet given a specific time frame for the implemetation of the scheme. All this has forced our former jawans to go on a relay hunger strike. It is unfortunate that our men who have served the nation are forced to protest and turn to political options to gain the attention of our leaders. The Centre might be working towards implementing the scheme but it has clearly not been able to convince our military veterans and till they get the desired results, clouds of uncertainty loom large
