For Transfiguration Sunday, the choices are somewhat limited when searching for choral repertoire. This addition to the oeuvre is a spectacular option featuring a text giving not only the story of Christ's transfiguration, but also a vision of heaven. Organic in its musical syntax, this piece unfolds in beautiful layers of music and meaning. The expressive palette of colors in both the voices and the piano writing is exceptional. Solid writing!
