Covington celebrates 200 years with bicentennial gala

COVINGTON, Ky. (Brad Underwood) -- The party keeps going in Covington as the city celebrates 200 years with events all weekend.The Bicentennial Birthday Bash continued as people enter the Northern Kentucky Convention Center on Saturday.     Inside the bash, the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra and the Red Cat Jazz Band will entertain the sold out crowd. The gala program will center on honoring Covingtons past, present and future and will include the recognition of Covingtons Longstanding Businesses, oldest residents, upcoming special events, the announcement of the COV200 Bicentennial Legacy Project, and more.     This is video of part of the Covington documentary, "Points of View: Covington at 200"    The film will premiere at several locations on Sunday including the Behringer-Crawford Museum at 2 p.m., Baker Hunt Center at 12 p.m., Prince of Peace Montessori at 6 p.m., Madison Avenue Church at 7 p.m. and the Covington branch of the Kenton County Library at 1 p.m., among other locations.     The screenings of the 75-minute documentary, which will include a brief opening by documentary producer, Steve Oldfield, will be open to the public.
