Children as young as 10-years old are drinking alcohol regularly at Platfontein near Kimberley in the Northern Cape. The Non-profit organisation - the Association for Alcohol Responsibility and Education - AWARE says research indicates this is a national phenomenon, with those as young as 13-year-old consuming alcohol. The numbers are shocking - with one in two teenagers actively consuming alcohol. Fifteen percent of males and eight percent of females had their first drink before thirteen. We cross Platfontein now where our reporter Reginald Witbooi is standing by in Platfontein near Kimberley. For more news, visit: sabcnews.com
