The recent cold wave that brought heavy snow and strong winds in northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region will ease on Friday, but the cold wave is expected to spread across most parts of the country's northern regions, authorities maintained. Earlier this week, nearly 100 flights were delayed, and three were canceled at Diwopu International Airport in the region's capital, Urumqi. Many train services were also suspended because of the harsh weather conditions. Authorities say the cold air has also brought sand and dust storms to Xinjiang's southern areas.
