In the video, I forgot to make the distinction that dooms us to perpetual disagreement: I typically take the psychological point of view while you typically take the material. These are emotionally constituted perspectives that reach out and structure the very world they perceive. I can't help but keep in mind the radical contingency and ungroundedness of my own biological existence even while I attempt to understand it intellectually. 
To philosophize is to learn to die, as Cicero said. All our intellectual articulations are responses to our emotional uncertainty in the face of death. There is no morality without mortality, and mortality cannot be confronted by an intellect alone.
