Catherine Beganovich enjoys the idea of helping people and her good listening skills mean she's a sitter to investigate a career in as a visitor information consultant. Heading for Whangarei, Catherine joins the team based at one of the 87 iSites around New Zealand to find out more about this tourism-oriented career.

The Whangarei centre offers everything from visitor information to a café and shop so Catherine needs to get an idea of what goes on throughout the iSite. Then she finds out product knowledge is the key to being a good consultant and that knowing about the likes of accommodation and tours in the local area is crucial to being able to help those walking through the door.

But it's not all about being based at the iSite. She goes off site on a 'familiarisation' to experience a new waka tour that is now available in Whangarei.

Dealing with people from all around the world plus New Zealanders visiting the region, Catherine thinks an iSite career could be just the job for her.
