This is the first run after a timing belt failure the night before. The timing belt had less than 1,000 miles on it. What actually happened was a bolt failure of the upper of the two smooth rollers on the left side of the engine. I had a full extra parts engine and two spare low mileage timing belts, so I disassembled the engine and installed the used parts to see if the engine would even start (to see if I had to tear it down further) and low and behold it ran. This video was taken while it's warming up in preparation for a leakdown and compression test, which it passed with flying colors. It left me speechless really, especially after the heads having been cut .025", the failure occurred in 3rd gear while climbing a 6% or so grade under WOT (wide open throttle) at about 6500rpm. I was going between 80-90mph at the time and didn't immediately push in the clutch but did decelerate for sometime, all other engine vitals were normal. For those who are not familiar with the EG33 engine, its a 24valve 4cam flat 6 with 10:1 compression. Power output in its stock form is around 230, this one should be more.
