http://www.doogielabs.com/albert-the-svx-swapped-vanagon/ My buddy bought a '98 GTI VR6, we decided to put it up against the old beast since we knew it was going to be a good race, and indeed it was. 70 - 120mph would be very interesting. In a couple of weeks the MK4 headgasket will be installed in the GTI, and a few other things, and then we'll re-match. GTI - Stock other than Neuspeed Intake Vanagon - Subaru SVX Engine swap, 3.3L 24v Ported Heads Custom Stage 2 Chip Stainless Header Stage II Clutch The piston rings are completely wasted in the Van, the clutch is rated for 225HP and it will slip the hell out of it, so its still a beast! I expected the Van to lose to the GTI, the engine is one of the strongest 12v VR6s I have driven in factory form.
