http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com Yes...the two old "farts" made it back on the Zanskar Lungnak Trek. All that remained was to drag all the equipment across the river and wait for the jeep to pick us up. We had passed two monasteries on the way to Raru. Muney and Bardan (Bardan was closed today). No problem visiting small Muney Monastery belonging to the Gelupa sect with 35-40 monks. Muney belongs to Norbu Rinpoche, brother of His Holiness the Dali Lama. Head monk insisted on feeding us biscuits/cookies. We accepted because then the "older" Zanskari women with her daughter could also partake. A beautiful monastery with the best part, a little boy monk shouting out his prayers in the Muney Monastery school. He was hysterical! Next stop, Padum for three days... Bye-bye, yaks...
