Renowned environmentalist Dr Vandana Shiva talks about the agricultural brilliance of India that gave us food security at the 41st Shri Ram Memorial Lecture, PHD Chamber, New Delhi. Unfortunately, today the growth of rice and wheat under the monoculture regime has happened at the cost of other crops (like millet, oil seeds, pulses, sugarcane) and pastures. These crops have a much higher nutritional value than the rice and wheat under the monoculture.
