Sicily's 8th Birthday Party was a Mad Hatter Tea Party. As they entered, they were welcomed by the Red Queen, the White Rabbit, the White Queen, and the Mad Hatter. They drank the bottle that said "Drink me" strawberry lemonade potion and shrunk small enough to go through the rabbit hole. Then they ate a cookie that read "Eat me" and grew back to normal size. They decorated their own mini top hat with flowers, boas and ribbons. Our living room and dining room were decorated with large red paper roses, inflatable flamingoes, and excerpts from the book. They played "contrary wise" (saying everything opposite) and croquet. The favors were the Drink Me bottles, the topiary place card holder (from Party City), and a box of thank you cards with animals such as a ladybug or frog. The food ideas were from a book for tasting parties - pigs in a blanket running in a field (wheat grass), mac & cheese on a spoon, one meatball with a few pieces of spaghetti and some grated cheese with a mini fork in it. The fresh fruit was in a serving bowl on top of a short glass vase filled with 3 colors of gum balls. It was a blast!
