A GWR Double Header On the GCR Golden Opportunities Weekend 23.02.13

The Great Central Railway hosted a mini gala weekend which was billed as a last opportunity to see 777 Sir Lamiel before it heads down south after it's long stay at GCR . Unfortunately 777 Failed in the morning while doing some light shunting at Loughborough and was replaced by some god awful yellow diesel which was used temporarily while they fired up the always impressive 46521 from the home fleet to take over Sir Lamiel . The event also featured a Great Western double header featuring GWR freight loco 3803 and 6023 King Edward II albeit in the wrong order but regardless was a nice sight . The two engines along with a afternoon run out by 46521 would complete the three engine lineup for the Saturday .
