Hey everyone! I'm hoping that despite the cons of 2016, there was plenty of room for the positive in your artistic world! I was definitely more productive this year than last year, and I had a steady stream of conscious (and unconscious) creativity! 

This was the first year I really dared to get into water soluble media. Mostly watercolor and gouache, but I found a love for ink towards the last month or so. Of course there's room for colored pencil and pastels as well!

Some of the art supplies used to create these pieces included:
Liquitex Muted Collection Acrylic Ink, Pan Pastels, Faber-Castell Polychromos, Holbein Artists' Colored Pencils, Daler-Rowney Ink, Dr. Ph. Martin's Concentrated Watercolor, St. Petersburg White Nights Watercolor, Holbein Artists Watercolor, Micron Pens, Caran D' Ache NeoColor II Wax Pastels, Caran D' Ache Pablo, and many more I'm probably forgetting. 

I am so happy to be able to share my journey with you, and I do hope that my reflections included in this video will inspire you to pick up the pencil or paintbrush.

Just in case anyone asks, the artistic portraits done this year included here are David Bowie, Gerard Way, Trent Reznor, Jensen Ackles, and Norman Reedus. You know, just in case you found yourself going, "Hey...isn't that...?" Yep, it is. 

Other sources of inspiration included Day of The Dead (Dia De Los Muertos), The Umbrella Academy (Comic), Shade The Changing Girl (comic), extraterrestrials, chakras, the metaphysical realm, spirit totems, oracle cards, music I love creating to (I'll cover this in another video), and the people I love.
