Callum Higgins, 10, was born with a string of difficulties which have made life a constant struggle both for himself, and for his mum, Stephanie Higgins, 28. He suffers from an extreme form of Pica - a compulsion to eat non-food items - and has been caught trying to chew through cables as well as shoelaces and bars of soap. Single mum Stephanie has even resorted to chaining up her own fridge to try and stop Callum from eating raw and frozen food.
