Experience the incredible energy of live independent music fusion in the heart of Germany.
While documenting the famous outdoor arts scene at Mauerpark in Berlin, Germany, on Sunday, August 20, 2017, we captured this spectacular live street performance. By the time I arrived at the park, most of the day's large scheduled performances were already over, but I happened to stumble upon this small, highly talented group of underground musicians. Because of the local language differences, I wasn't able to get their name, but their music spoke for itself, keeping a massive crowd completely unified as a hip-hop MC rapped over deep reggae and dub-infused instrumentals.
Mauerpark is world-renowned for its historic open-air Sunday gatherings, where independent music, street dance, and creative freedom thrive in a space that once divided the city during the Berlin Wall era.
