There is now a collaborative effort between applied mathematicians, computer scientists and physicist aiming at designing robust and efficient codes for ITER simulations. In this talk, after recalling the context of ITER and the challenges of magnetic fusion we are going to present the ongoing effort towards the development of simulation codes for different problems related to magnetic fusion
