What is the best practice for questioning complainants in cases of sexual abuse or even rape? Legal experts seem to differ on what is permissible and what crosses the line. When is a murder suspect deemed a killer? After a conviction or once charged? How may we as the media report on these cases especially when they are televised? In recent weeks the defence counsel for rape accused Timothy Omotoso has faced outrage for the cross-examination of Cheryl Zondi, who has accused the televangelist pastor of grooming and sexually abusing her since she was 14 years old.
