SOLD - SIMILAR REQUIRED CALL 01733 425140 An original unmolested MG BGT with just 42,740 miles and two owners from new. EQUIPMENT Polyurethane bumpers, curved laminated tinted windscreen, twin chrome door mirrors, rake adjusting seats, rear seat belts, anti-burst locks, two speed heater, swivelling sun visors with vanity mirror, map pocket, lockable glovebox, Phillips radio, electric impulse tachometer, electrically operated overdrive, two-speed plus flick wipers, clock, oil, fuel and water gauges, electric windscreen washer, interior courtesy lamp, hazard warning lights, seatbelt warning light, heated rear window, cigar lighter, trip and mileage recorder, rear courtesy lamp. EXTERIOR This wonderful GT Coupe is finished in Flamenco (colour code BLVC133). It has a fabulous appearance with a uniform polished shine, helped by the Cadulac rust proofing treatment applied from new. The often criticized polyurethane bumpers are in excellent condition and all trim articles are intact and perfect. All tinted glass is original and security etched and the optional Webasto Sunroof is in perfect working condition. The lower section of the nearside rear arch shows sign of previous repair work, visible by some minor cracking in the paint. There are areas of micro-bubble visible upon close inspection, however this does not detract from the impressive appearance of the car and is just a natural paint ageing process. All the panels are original and the floor has never been welded. This is an excellent cherished MG with unrivalled pedigree. INTERIOR Delightful and correct in every manor. The original silver/grey cloth seats and black vinyl trim evoke real 1970's nostalgia and is presented in excellent order. The thick black carpeting in the load area is clean and wear free, although two small areas of carpeting over the rear wheel arches are missing. The carpeted areas in the drivers footwell and door sill are clean and mark free, but are showing signs of wear. All the controls, gauges and switches set in the perfect crackle finish fascia function. The optional Phillips radio cassette fitted to the car works well along with all other electrical items. The headlining is tight and all door cars undamaged. An MG interior commensurate of the low miles travelled. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION This four cylinder o.h.v with a five bearing counterbalanced crankshaft produces 94bhp at 5500rpm and offers ample performance for daily use. The tough, well proved 'B' series engine is a simple unit with brilliant access and fantastic parts availability, every classic car owners dream! This example performs faultlessly. The four-speed all synchromesh gearbox gives sporty performance coupled with real fuel economy. This is further complimented by the electrically controlled overdrive providing a top gear ratio of 0.82 : 1. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES The Rostyle wheels are in excellent condition fitted with branded Michelin MX 165 R14 tyres all-round. The boot mounted spare is present and in excellent order. The hydraulic brakes with servo assistance employing discs at the front and 10 inch drums at the rear offer safe stopping power. HISTORY FILE Supplied new by Caffyns Ltd, main MG Dealers in Eastbourne on the 3rd November 1977 to a Mr John Brooke Sheldon who owned the car for 32 years. The original purchase invoice comes with the car revealing a price paid of £3,674.66. Then sold to MG enthusiast Mrs Medway on 31st October 2009. The history file for this car is incredible. The original Owners handbook, Passport to Service and a MGB GT brochure from the period are included in the sale. Receipts for the Cadulac rust proofing and Supercover service program are also included in the history. The handbooks for both the original radio and subsequent Phillips upgrade are also present. There are a number of entries in the service book, as well as many further service and maintenance invoices. All MOT's from new will confirm the very low mileage of 42,740. Amazing!
