EQUIPMENT Flared wheel arches, modified front spoiler with front brake cooling channels, optimised rear wing with flow bar, thin rear and side windows, plastic boot lid, weight reduced body parts, M Technic foot rest, green windshield, M Technic steering wheel, BMW sports seats, aluminium disc with individual production number, twin halogen headlamps, glove box torch, M Technic instrument cluster, SI service-interval indicator, check/control info centre, toolbox, oil temperature gauge. EXTERIOR Finished in Misano Red, (Paint Code 236 one of only three colours available), and retains an amazing deep gloss finish of a pampered, garaged car. The paint has a mirror finish, other than the lightweight boot lid, rear wings and side sills due to the light weight plastic construction. Attractive from any angle with elegant flared wheel arches, large low-slung air dams and extra-wide side sills all help accentuate the dynamic looks. Tiny markings commensurate with a 25 year old car including minor stone chips to the wheel arch lips and one miniscule ding barely visible in the O/S door do not detract from the show condition. There is no rust or corrosion anywhere. The inner boot lip has two discreet paint imperfections. INTERIOR The BMW sports seats in tartan-patterned silver fabric with Bison silver leather supports offer superb body support at all times and are designed exclusively for the M3 Evolution. Minor veins to the leather can be seen. The door cards echo the harmonious design colours and along with all the other crafted materials are in excellent order. Carpeting has been protected by genuine BMW velour mats and the boot has a secondary BMW over mat protecting the as new original. There is a replacement leather gear shift knob and gaiter used when the vehicle is driven to preserve the immaculate original still with the car. The handbrake sleeve has been replaced. The aluminium disc with the individualised production number '318/500' reminds the driver how important this BMW is while glancing at the clearly marked M Technic sports dials and unbroken digital readouts. The boot toolkit is complete and the glove box torch works. The front screen still has running in sticker. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The heart of this exclusive M3 Evolution is the 16-valve 4 cylinder engine with important mechanical and electronic refinements. New pistons allow an increase in compression and camshafts with altered control timings combined with harder valve springs and enlarged intakes improve combustion. Other detailed modifications by BMW Motor Sport GmbH allow an increased output of 220bhp and 245 Nm of torque, enough to propel the car to 151mph and to 62mph in 6.7 seconds. A five speed manual close-ratio Getrag transmission with a dogleg shift pattern is a delight to use. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES BMW cross-spoke 7.5 X 16 inch alloy wheels have tiny markings barely visible and are finished in Nogaro silver as per the M3 Sport Evolution. Shod in Toyo Proxes 225/45 ZR16 tyres. ABS inner-vented, fist calliper reinforced disc brakes front and rear offer incredible feel and immense stopping power once up to temperature. HISTORY FILE Just 85,158 miles. Registered new on the 6th July 1988, (Production date 9th May 1988), by BMW Main Dealers Lucar s.r.l. in Lucca Italy, this vehicle was fully BMW maintained while in Italy with supporting documentation. Since entry to the UK in February 2004 the vehicle has had two passionate owners, the last, Mr Hellon since 2006, who worked as a BMW employee. Full service records are present while in the UK encompassing BMW Main Dealer up to 2008/77,360 miles and Specialists using exclusively BMW Parts with accompanying invoices. The last routine maintenance was in March 2013 at 84,534 miles. The service-interval indicator currently displays five green lights.
