In this video I use Crash Bandicoot 2 on PlayStation 1 to teach you German through retro gaming. You hear my German commentary while I point out important gaming words on screen and show how to turn classic platformer gameplay into a language lesson. We look at core terms like Leben for lives, Extra-Leben, Wumpa-Früchte, Gegner, Checkpoint and action verbs such as springen. Thanks to the simple, repetitive level structure, you see and hear the same words again and again, which makes it easier to remember them. 🎮 Example vocabulary in this video Leben – lives Extra-Leben – extra lives Wumpa-Früchte – Wumpa fruit Gegner – enemies Checkpoint – checkpoint springen – to jump What you’ll learn in this episode: • Key German gaming vocabulary that appears in Crash Bandicoot 2 • How repetition in retro games helps you remember new words • Simple strategies to pause gameplay and notice useful German terms • How to turn other classic games into your own German practice sessions Language level: A2–B1 (beginner to lower-intermediate gaming vocabulary) If you enjoy learning German with old-school games instead of textbooks, this video is for you. Watch, repeat the German words out loud when they appear and tell me in the comments which retro game I should use for the next German lesson. And if this helped you, feel free to share it with a friend who loves Crash and languages. ❓ FAQ Q: How can I learn German vocabulary through retro games like Crash Bandicoot 2?
