Hi fiddle campers! We will play a medley of this camp's songs at the HCCS meeting at Laurel Springs Baptist Church this Monday. The meeting starts at 7:00 so let's be there by 6:30 to tune fiddles and be seated. Those who are able should meet at the Whites' home at 5:45 to practice the Medley. Red is the Rose (play a verse, sing the chorus only) King of the Fairies Green Castle Hornpipe Rattlesnake Big John McNeil Big Sandy River Forked Deer Be Thou My Vision (play a verse, then the congregation will sing with us) We will play the instrumentals only one time through each. Note the transition between "Big John McNeil" and "Big Sandy River." Here are the words to "Be Thou My Vision:" Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart; Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art. Thou my best Thought, by day or by night, Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light. Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight; Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight; Thou my soul's Shelter, Thou my high Tower: Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power. High King of Heaven, my victory won, May I reach Heaven's joys, O bright Heaven's Sun! Heart of my own heart, whatever befall, Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.
