Florence Freedom set to open season

FLORENCE, Ky. (Perry Schaible) -- Baseball fans, get ready. Beginning Thursday, there's another team to cheer on in the Tri-State. The Florence Freedom opens its season at U.C. Health Stadium. Thursday's opening game starts at 6:35 p.m. The first 500 fans will receive a 2015 magnet schedule. The first 50 into the stadium will get a commemorative T-shirt from the move San Andreas. Prior to the game, the trailer and a clip for that film will play as well. It will also be "Thirsty Thursday" which means beers are . On Friday night, two members of the Big Red Machine will be there to coach the team. "Cincinnati has a grand baseball tradition," Sarah Eichenberger said. "We will keep that going as well. We're a different kind of product but we really want to bring that nostalgic feel, that All-American feel to the kids, to the people that are introducing their own grandchildren to what they remember in the 70's with the Big Red Machine." Former Reds player George Foster said. "My plan is to do the break dance and the Salsa, Merengae, then they'll have to get the paramedics and take me off the field."
