GOV  and partners' Tagged World Project is a collaborative initiative that seeks to use RFID tag technology to predict human behavior in a comprehensive manner while protecting individual privacy, and at the same time allowing people to enjoy high value-added services that improve the quality of life in society.

The pocket assistant is a portable tag that a person can wear, and it predicts the behavior of the person based on what he or she is holding.  For example, if the individual is holding a wallet, then the pocket assistant predicts that the person is about to leave home.  Based on a person's past actions the reader records that person's habits and behavior patterns.

The reader compares the recorded information with what the person is currently doing and then predicts what the individual is going to do.  The reader then transmits this information to the server's ubiquitous base and provides the user with the most appropriate service proactively.  Let's say a person always takes their wallet and turns off the TV before going out.  Now if the person starts to go out without turning off the TV, the pocket assistant alerts the person by asking if the TV has been switched off.  In this way it acts as the user's assistant. 

GOV is presently researching context aware applications that will use multiple sensors and mobile phones to provide services based on the individual's current location and time of day.
