MATTA Seeks Clarification On Service Tax Treatment For Travel Industry

The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) will be meeting with the Royal Malaysian Customs Department to seek clarification on the treatment of service tax for the travel industry under the new SST regime to be implemented on September 1st. According to its Chief Executive Officer, Phua Tai Neng currently there are many questions still left unanswered. In the 46th edition of MATTA, Phua targets to achieve RM220 million in sales turnover with an expected turnout of 115,000 visitors.
