Pulling weeds in a lawn renovation

There are a few weeds popping up and now I'm just pulling them up with my hands to prevent them from getting large enough to goto seed. It's not a foolproof method, if you miss roots some of them will just pop back up, but I'm OK with that. I only have a small area where weeds are popping up.
