On the 25th of October 2002, Iain Sinclair hosted an event to document the M25 at London's Barbican centre, largely inspired by J G Ballard's earlier writings (read more here ; http://www.guardian.co.uk/stage/2002/oct/19/theatre.artsfeatures )

Artist James Cauty's contribution to the evening was a collaboration with musician James Fogarty in the form of a 3 and a half minute electro / metal barrage of noise praising Gimpo's 'M25 Spin'. This went on to become the short-lived collaboration 'Blacksmoke' (a.k.a. The Blacksmoke Organisation)
