Agriculture Principal  Secretary Richard Lesiyampe denied charges of buying excess amounts of maize thereby causing a 5.6 billion loss. Lesiyampe together with National cereals and Produce board former managing director Newton Terer and NCPB general manager in charge of Finance, Cornel Kiprotich were arraigned in Milimani hours after they were arrested. According to Ethics and Anti corruption commission the three, are among 16 other suspects behind the maize scandal.
