“I promise to love you through the sun and through the rain for the rest of my life.” That’s what Hejia promised Richard. I’ve only been married for a while now but I can feel the weight within those words. Those words carry a deep meaning. I’ve learned words can build a man up or tear him apart. Especially words that come from a person so important in a man’s life - like the wife. Her words can give him the courage to break down walls and take on the world, or it can destroy his spirit and crush his dreams. To know and to believe that his wife will love him no matter will give him the courage to plough through the rain in the hopes of one day finding the sun again. To know and to believe that the while will stick by his side despite the heat on the path they might go through one day will motivate him to keep walking in the hopes of finding an oasis, if not for them, at least for her. Encouraging words from a wife have miraculous effect. Richard doesn’t seem like the type of guy who is too comfortable about being in front of the camera. I told him to keep his eyes on Hejia. He did. But he didn’t just look at her. He saw her. Adoringly. Every time. I don’t question Hejia’s devotion to him. With the way he treats her, I can imagine that it’s only natural.
