DISCUSSION: ANC in Gauteng refuses to suspend Mahlangu, Hlongwa

The ANC in Gauteng has rejected a recommendation by the party's Integrity Commission to suspend former Health MEC's Qedani Mahlangu and Brain Hlongwa as members of the party. The Integrity Commission also recommended they no longer hold public office. Hlongwa resigned earlier today as ANC Chief Whip in the Gauteng Legislature. He will continue to represent the ANC in an ordinary capacity in the provincial legislature. Hlongwa's case relates to alleged corruption during his tenure as Health MEC. Mahlangu - tainted by the Life Esidiment tragedy - resigned as Health MEC in February last year. both remain members of the ANC Gauteng PEC. For more news, visit: sabcnews.com
