I show the unboxing of a package I received from Cari Slings with two of my artist's samples inside: a woven babywearing wrap and a woven babywearing ring sling. I'm so excited! :) I love to receive packages from my customers and to see how my seamless patterns, illustrations, and designs look on final products. I also show the process of how I created Palmea palm tree vector repeat pattern and Beginning of the Adventure lion seamless pattern in Adobe Illustrator, and how the final products turned out. Oksancia Freelance Artist - Textile Designer ____ *The partial transcript of this video (thank you, Rachel Blair, for writing it!)* Hi everyone, Oksancia here! And exciting day today! I’m going to unpack a box. Here it is! Here we go. It came from my amazing, amazing, amazing customer Cari Slings. It's a great brand for baby sling wraps. Beautiful beautiful quality. And an amazing group of people who like this brand and amazing mothers and fathers who enjoy babywearing. Palm trees! Let's check it out. Okay. Yay! Oh, it matches my shirt! Yay, I’m so excited. It’s called Palmae. The pattern based on the Cari Slings logo and its a pattern that I created last year. I’m super excited to see what's inside! It's a cool beach Caribbean vibe and it will be my bag for the summer. Yay! Now, what's inside. So I took the Cari Slings logo with two palm trees. I recreated it in Vector first to create this pattern. Then I added some breezy waves underneath and this is the base of the pattern right here. Next, I created a tile swatch and filled it with a background. Then I added the element and the seagulls around it. Then I repeated the element in a half drop manner to create the file. This is how it looks in the illustrator. This file is not very detailed but I am very pleased with how it turned out on the fabric because the texture of the fabric really adds to the design. So for the lion pattern, I worked with my team member Evgenia, and we created these elements based on Narnia Books. Of course, the lion in the center. His face first, this is the final version, but his face first was a little bit sad, like this, and made it to be a little happier. I placed it on a separate swatch in the illustrator in the beginning and I added some crowns and some snowflakes around it in a big circle. and created the repeat by adding some additional elements and flipping the main element horizontally. This is the repeat file and now let's see the result. How it looks on woven fabric. So thank you so much for watching my video today.
