Pakatan Harapan today named its Chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as its candidate for Prime Minister, in the event the opposition pact wins the 14th general election. Its Secretary-General, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, when announcing the move at the Pakatan Harapan Convention, at the Ideal Convention Centre, IDCC in Shah Alam today, also said its President Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail will be their candidate for the Deputy Prime Minister post. He added, as soon as the coalition forms the federal government, Pakatan would initiate legal action to secure a royal pardon for its de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. As such, Tun Dr Mahathir would only hold the post temporarily to enable Datuk Seri Anwar to become Prime Minister. Datuk Saifuddin also revealed Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, PPBM will contest the most number of parliamentary seats for Pakatan in GE14. The party will be allocated 52 seats, while PKR will contest in 51 followed by DAP with 35 seats while Parti Amanah Negara will contest 27 seats.
