Many noted instructors will tell you that if you don't have a diagnostic direction within 30 minutes or so, you need to drop back and punt! What I mean by that is, you need to stop what you're doing and start accessing additional resources to help you locate the problem. In the old days, we'd ask the techs we worked with but in this Internet age, answers can be found simply by searching by keyword or phrase.
