GREENVILLE -- Darke County was hit with freezing rain, snow and vicious winds on Monday.First round of snow lasted an hour and although it wasn't enough to measure, it created a nasty slush on the roads. We definitely don't need anymore but there's nothing you can do about it I guess, Jesse Railsback, Greenville, said Monday.County officials say all roads were pretreated in time for the approaching weather system. After the first round of snow ODOT and county plows swept in immediately, impressing drivers. They've been pretty good I think. they've been on top of it for the most part, Railsback explained. They're doing a pretty good job out there for right now considering with congestion, Greenville's Carl Swiger added. The roads were cleared rather quickly but there is still some looming fear of what I'll inevitably come soon.I'm scared of what it's going to do when it melts though. It's going to flood a lot, Reagan Smith, Union City, added.County plows will remain on standby throughout the night if another round of snow hits.
