My goal in visiting Frankenstadion Station was to catch a scheduled freight led by a pair of BR 232 "Ludmilla" diesels. First, an "out of service" S-Bahn consist quickly passes through the station with a leased BR 185 shoving (185 633-5). Moments later the expected freight with 232 457-2 and 232 384-8 passes with a relatively short train of open wagons (gondolas). This train originated at the nearby Nürnberg Rangierbahnhof (Yard).
