Impressions of a unique monastary in a hidden forest with Photos and own music from a mystic and peaceful  place in Portugal. Situated near Sintra mountains, This Capuchin monks monastery was founded in 1560 and is surrounded by Granite Rocks in a unspoilt nature. A very special contemplative and tranquil place, a real conceiled gem in the Sintra Forest.

Inmitten des Sintra-Gebirges sind die Franziskanermönche ihrem Gelübde auf Verzicht und Armut mit besonderem Eifer nachgekommen und haben ein Kloster in die Felsen gehauen, das sie mit Kork verkleidet haben. Es symbolisiert die Abkehr von der Welt und den Annehmlichkeiten des weltlichen Lebens. Es wurde 1560 von D. Álvaro de Castro gegründet und Franziskaner Mönchen übergeben. Die winzigen Räume und der labyrinthähnliche Aufbau der Anlage sind unbeschreiblich.  
Die Höfe und der Blick vom Kloster sind genau wie der umliegende Wald einmalig und seit Jahrhunderten unverändert. Es ist ein mystischer Ort der Kontemplation und der Spiritualität und man kann den völligen Frieden dieses Ortes spüren.

In the midst of the Sintra Mountains, the Franciscan monks have eagerly fulfilled their vows of renunciation and poverty and have carved a monastery into the rock, which they have clad in cork. It symbolizes the renunciation of the world and the amenities of worldly life. It was founded in 1560 by D. Álvaro de Castro and handed over to Franciscan monks. The tiny rooms and the labyrinthine structure of the complex are indescribable.
