DigInfo - (http://movie.diginfo.tv) Itoki, an office security technology company, displayed their 2nd Generation LAN sheet, that prevents unauthorized use of a company's internet connection at 2008 Security Show. Wireless systems have a range that can extend beyond the office which allows unauthorized people to use a company's internet. Ethernet requires complicated wiring and limits the number of employees that can use the network to the number of cables available. With the LＡＮ sheet several people can access the internet through one sheet and it is limited to one meter from the sheet. By choosing which desk to place the LＡＮ sheet on, an office layout can be constructed so part time workers or other temporary users can't access the server. The LAN sheet is made of a dielectric layer sandwiched between a mesh layer on top and a shield layer on the bottom to prevent excessive transmission. During meetings the presenter can send slides and data to a projector via the LAN sheet.
