This pyramid-like structure was built in the Avebury area, nowadays known as Silbury Hill. The structure was covered with a thick layer of earth. The reason for building the hill is still a mystery, maybe it was a lookout post or step up towards the heavens. Is it just a hill? No.. it was built in 2300 BC. West Kennet Long Barrow is a collection of covered burial chambers from around 3700 BC. The tomb is 107 metres long and was also built with sarsen stone. Researchers found human skeletons dating to the Stone Age.
