Hotel and Restaurant Association of Odisha (HRAO), in association with Dept. of Tourism, Govt. of Odisha, organised the first Annual Odisha Tourism Conclave to sit with all the stake holders, policy makers, Govt. Officials, intellectuals and media and discuss on various salient issues pertaining to the growth of tourism in the state.

Odisha Tourism Conclave  was organised at Chanakya Hall of Swosti Premium, Bhubaneswar on 02 December 2013. Sri Maheswar Mohanty, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Law, inaugurated the event. Similarly the concluding remarks was given by Jugal Kishore Mohapatra, Chief Secretary of Odisha.

Mr. J. K. Mohanty, Chairman HRAO and a leading hotelier and tour operator of Odisha, presided over the key meetings during the event of Odisha Tourism Conclave .

Among others Mr. Tathagat Satapathy, Editor 'Dharitri' (Odia dialy) and Lok Sabha MP; Mr. S. P. Thakur, Principal Secretary to Govt., Dept. of Tourism and Excise; Mr. Ashok Chandra Panda, MLA (Ekamra -- Bhubaneswar) graced over the occasion.

As a part of the serious process in Odisha Tourism Conclave there were a few panel discussions on key topics like sensitisation on the new Tourism Policy, Branding Odisha -- the Way Ahead, Opportunities and Challenges in Eco and Wildlife Tourism and Tourism and Civic Governance etc. Mr. Nilambar Rath, Senior journalist and Founder & Editor-in-Chief of OdishaLive anchored all the panels.

Stalwarts from different fields participated in the panels and put forth their thoughts and debate on issues. Panelists include, Mr. S. P. Thakur, Principal Secretary to Govt., Dept. of Tourism and Excise; Mr. Vivek Patnaik, former Jt.Secretary, Dept. of Tourism and Aviation, Govt. of India; Mr. Gopal Mohapatra, Group Editor, Prameya; Mr. Srinibash Subudhi, Vice-Chairman, HRAO; Mr. Dilip Satpathy, Resident Editor, Business Standard; Mr. Sandeep Mishra, Sr. Asst. Editor, Times of India; Mr. Sharad Kumar, Director, Bhubaneswar Airport and others.

The first Odisha Tourism Conclave was attended by officials of Tourism and other Dept., Govt. of Odisha; HRAO Officials; leading Hoteliers, Tour and Travel Operators, Intellectuals, Business Leaders and Media personalities.
