After removing the dirty beige seatbelts from the 406 as a last resort i tried to wash them in the washing machine and they actually turned out to clean up very well almost like new so i put them back into the car, but just decided to try and test weather their strength might have been affected

The test involved using 2 identical seatbelts, both spare ones from the front of a 406 that i had from a car that was taken apart a few years ago.
One belt was left alone, the other was washed in the washing machine at the highest temperature of 90 degrees.
The belts had a loop tied on each end and then put into the tow pins on the front of 2 tractors, one tractor was parked with the handbrake on while the other reversed back slowly in its lowest gear with 4 wheel drive engaged.
I cant really notice any real difference in the 2 belts, both broke under the tension of a tractor pulling on them.

This video is for entertainment purposes only, its by no means a proper scientific test like they would do on new seat belts. Nonetheless feel free to make comments on weather its safe to wash seat belts, or if the test could have been conducted differently.
