Cincinnati Ben-Gal Cheerleader Files Lawsuit

CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati Bengals says it will respond in due course to a lawsuit filed this week by one of the team's cheerleaders. It's the second lawsuit filed against NFL teams in two months.Alexa Brenneman is accusing the Bengals of violating federal wage laws and she says she got the courage to file her complaint after two Oakland Raiders cheerleaders sued last month.Brenneman claims cheerleaders put in more than 300 hours attending mandatory practices and charity events, but they're paid only 90 dollars per game. ABC 22 and Fox 45 Morning Host Ann Reynolds is a former BenGal, and she says, I can certainly understand why someone would look at this and say, you're definitely not getting paid for the amount of hours you put in it, but on the other hand, it's such an amazing experience, and such and honor to be a part of the team.Brenneman is seeking an end to the wage violations along with unpaid wages. Some believe these lawsuits will spark more against NFL teams.
