How often do you lean over and toss your pet "table food." Veterinarians often see an increase in visits during the holiday season. Dr. Ronald Whitford with the Saint Bethlehem Animal Clinic in Clarksville says feeding your pet foods they are not used to could make them sick and in some cases could kill them.He also believes pet owners are more likely to feed cats and dogs people food around the holidays."We've seen probably a half dozen today and we'll see a bunch of them tomorrow," said veterinarian Ronald Whitford. "Holiday time is the time that people feel guilty and want to give their pet's additional food like they eat not realizing that those changes can really create problems."Whitford also wants pet owners to keep an eye on their leftovers as pets are more likely to sneak a bite when you are not looking or get into an overflowing trashcan.
