Easy to use and setup WiFi Socket, simple remote control and timer functions with weekday scheduling through mobile app. Amazon Affiliate Product Link: http://amzn.to/1qwsJ18 The unit measures 4” tall, 2” deep and just over 2” wide. On the top is the reset button (with the power symbol). To control this socket, you’ll need an iOS or Android mobile device to install the app. The app is called Smart Life and is available in the Google Play store for Android devices and App Store for Apple devices. Setting up the socket is straightforward and you can follow the included instructions. You can add multiple sockets tot eh app and the menu options for each individual socket let you switch it on/off, view the current and historical power usage (over the past year), and set timers to turn the socket on.off. When adding a timer you have 3 options. You can set an ‘on’ time with no ‘off’ time or vice versa which is useful for turning something on for a period that spans several days, and you can set a single timer that will turn the unit on and off within the same day. You can also set the recurrence on the schedule for specific days of the week. Once you set the timer in the app the socket will follow the schedule as long as it is plugged in, even if the device used to set the timer is switched off or out of range. So that’s pretty cool. If you want to remove a scheduled time, press and hold it, then click delete. You can control the socket as long as you’re connected to the internet. Whether that's on mobile data, or another internet connected WiFi network. There's no need to be within a certain distance or line of sight of the unit. If you need to change WiFi networks, press and hold the button on the top of the unit for 5 seconds. This will also clear the power usage data. If you have trouble connecting the unit to your network, reset the unit while it is plugged in and try the setup process again. This outlet is easy to setup and lets you control outlets that are difficult to get to, like ones behind the couch, and it does a nice job replacing the old rotary timers. It’s perfect for holiday lights and decorations or for turning on lights in the house while you're away on vacation. Amazon Affiliate Product Link: http://amzn.to/1qwsJ18
