Encounter with a member of the 'Open Brethren' - a division of the Plymouth (and 'Exclusive') Brethren, who consider themselves more liberal and less restricted than the group they sprang from. Unlike their Brethren cousins, they can go to the theater and football games, I learn. When I ask about gay couples attending their services, I am surprised to hear that yes, they are welcome... but not too surprised to hear that they don't approve of the gay lifestyle.
