http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com Batur is the only Balinese Temple that non-Balinese are actually allowed to enter. You can walk the perimeters of all other temples but not actually enter. There was a small ceremony taking place inside while we were there. Garbed in our sarongs, temple scarves and looking ridiculous, we walked between the different height pagodas (the higher the pagoda, the more important the Hindu god) and shrines. Peaceful.
