The critical point here is the beginning. You have to jump down the stairs as fast as possible and this is the most secure and fast method i've found so far, although i think i've onced managed to jump all the way to the bottom rolling over the ground without dieing. I just don't know how to reproduce that. And even if you jump to the last level of the stairs and let your self hang on the border and fall down then, you die because of falling damage.
