http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com It is amazing that some, of not most, of these people walk a minumum of 50 kilometers/31 miles to this Saturday market because there is no public transportation. (That's equivalent to running back-to-back Marathons!) They walk all day, sleep over in Lalibela, and head back to their villages the next day. You don't need Jenny Craig or WeightWatchers in Ethiopia. This is the only venue for selling/buying animals, vegetables, grains and clothing. A vibrant way to begin three days in Lalibela.
