Our increasing reliance on wireless information systems for communication during emergency situations can lead to catastrophe.  To prevent this, NiCT, National Institute of Information and Communication Technology, is attempting a new method for reconnecting people in disasters through the use of a zeppelin carrying a portable base station. The zeppelin experiment which took place in January 2007 set up a hi speed transmission of over 50 Mbps.
