The Comica Dual-Lav-D03 microphone kit is an easy and affordable way to connect two lavalier microphones to your favorite video recording device. This mic system works with DSLRs, GoPros and also smartphones. I was really excited to get this mic kit because of the included cables to make this work with my iPhone. The kit comes in its own carrying case. The shell is semi-rigid so it won’t get crushed in a bag.

The mics have foam windscreens but there are also dead cat windscreens included too. The microphone cables are terminated with a 3.5mm stereo plug. The dead cat windscreen slips can be secured on the mic with the attached cord.

Set up with a DSLR is about the same as with most video cameras. Just plug the patch cable into the Mic input on the camera. Now all you have to do is flip the box on and it’s ready to go. To use this with a smartphone, the TRRS cable is needed. It has 4 sections on the plug and a female port on the other end. In this setup, the patch cable plugs into the TRRS adapter and then the adapter is plugged into the phone’s 3.5mm multi-port like on an Android phone.

It works well to record interviews but it will work with the phone’s video camera as well. The procedure is the same on iPhones except for iPhone 7 and up. On iPhone 7 and later we’ll need the Lightining to 3.5mm adapter plugged into the phone.

Overall this is a nice affordable system for recording two people at once. The other bonus is that Comica includes all the adapter cables needed for smartphone and GoPro audio recording!
