Inconsistent Rewind Speeds on Verizon Fios DVR

When trying to rewind an episode of This Is Us saved on my Verizon Fios DVR (Arris VMS1100 model), rewinding at "2x" speed for 2 seconds rewinds the program by 2 minutes, making it impossible to go back 30 seconds. When rewinding the pilot episode of "Young Sheldon" also saved on the DVR, rewinding at the same 2x speed is more consistent, allowing me to go back a relatively short amount of time. Why is this happening only with my recordings of This Is Us?
